Reupholstered love seat is done!

I finished reupholstering the love seat last week, I just placed it in the dining room temporarily until I finish the rocking chair and get rid of the old furniture. I am very pleased with it. I have about 2 yards of the linen fabric left, probably not enough to do the rocking chair, so I went to purchase more, and of course they are all out of it! Hopefully there will be a new shipment next week. If not. natol custodia iphone x . . oh well, I’ll think of something else! I was at a quilting retreat in Temecula over the weekend and put this quilt together using seven shirts. Actually, the green fabric was a pair of shorts, but the inspiration came from something I saw on Pinterest. Here is the link to a great site: http://thethriftyquilter.blogspot.com/2009/06/seven-shirts-seven-steps-one-thrifty.html I like the instructions for this quilt. They are very thorough and easy to follow. Here’s the back of the quilt. It was supposed to be out of the backs of the seven shirts, but I had some short sleeved shirts and some not quite full shirts, so I ran short and added my own homespun to the sides. The charming part of this quilt is that the labels and pockets are part of the quilt and just fall into place as they may. I have another box of flannel shirts that I think may have to get processed into one of these oh so cozy quilts! Now, really switching gears, I made this quilt from fabric donated to me by my friend Michele. She knows I can’t let anything go to waste. custodia iphone 8 corazzata I’m not a huge fan of brights, so I did this simple little child’s quilt for her granddaughters. It’s a great pattern, it looks complicated but is easy as pie to do. It also lends itself to some odd sized blocks which allowed me to get the very most I could out of the fabric I had.

Love the love seat, Pam; it will look great with all your quilt patterns and colors – you go, girl!! Also love the “shirt” quilt from the retreat; it came out so well, and I love the concept. Am putting the borders on my blue/yellow swap quilt from the retreat. Am so glad to finish it, and am pleased how it turned out!

Oh man, that loveseat turned out AMAZING!! Nice work!! I have a few chairs that need some recovering… when were you planning to visit? 😉

The absolute worst part of the job is getting started. It’s hard on the hands pulling staples and ripping out seams, but then the fun begins! Every step of the way you get another reward. I’d love to recover your things!

I know this is a very old post, but I also see you’ve made several of them so I’m hoping you can answer a question about the 7 shirts quilt… does it matter what size the shirts are? I thought I read XXL in the original instructions, but now that I’m re-reading them I don’t think it actually gives a minimum size. Obviously bigger = more fabric but is there a size that is too small to get by without using just seven? Thanks so much if you can help me!
