Pineapple Appeal Quilt 71x71

This is foundation pieced for simplicity and durability.  Each student will draw their own foundation on muslin, so it can be perfectly tailor made to the size you like!  My blocks consist of wool strips that are 2 ½” wide and after they are sewn together are 19 ½” finished, but you may opt to go with larger or smaller strips and more or fewer strips and as many blocks as you like, depending on the fabric choices you make.  The entire top of my quilt is washed wool, it has a cotton batting and a cotton flannel back.  It is very heavy and will keep you toasty warm in the coldest weather!  It has been big stitch hand quilted.  This would be equally wonderful in cottons.

Skill Level: All
Pattern Fee: None

Kit Fee: no kits are available

Supply List:

  • 6 x 24 Acrylic ruler
  • Steam iron
  • 5 yards pre-shrunk muslin
  • #2 lead pencils

Fabric Requirement and Cutting Instructions:
Scraps totaling 5 yards, slightly larger amounts of darks than lights. If you want to make the quilt the same size as mine, strips are cut 2 ½" and the center square is cut at 4".
